Shakespearience

When I was in high school our drama teacher would take us to the Denver Center to see a Shakespeare play. Being the drama/literature geeks we were, our excitement was palpable; and, being teenagers to boot, we were also very silly. One year, on our way to Denver in the van, my friends and I decided that our excitement was not good enough, so when we stopped by the Acorn gas station in Walsenburg we bought Starbucks Doubleshots, double dark chocolate muffins, No-Doz and a bunch of other caffeinated consumables and consumed them forthwith. We were so high on caffeine that when we got to the theater we caused everyone in the lobby to give us a very wide berth, and our poor drama coach was about ready to strangle us right there! To this day I don’t remember which play it was we saw that year-the only thing I remember is that it was good, we laughed a lot (I think my friends and I were the loudest in the theater) and we wanted to take the set home with us but they would not allow us to do so. All in all, it was a fantastic experience and paved the way for more, similar ones in years to come. (I still wish I had that set though, it was quite fabulous. :-P ) And so, in light of Speak Like Shakespeare Day (sorry, I cannot abide by the incorrect use of grammar, even if it is the name of an organization) I shall link to my post on my website: Oh Hast a Joyous Birthing Day Been Seen?
